Petrofac's Training business continued its efforts to build closer relationships with its local community by holding its inaugural 10k road race in Montrose, Scotland on Sunday 12 April 2009.

The race attracted 140 participants including Petrofac Training employees and local residents. Serious racers joined less experienced runners on a scenic route which started and finished at Petrofac’s training facility at Forties Road, Montrose. Winner David Wright completed the race in 33:09 minutes.

Petrofac Training partnered with race organisers born2run and running footwear specialists Run 4 It to stage the event, with assistance from the local Air Training Corps. Staff from Petrofac’s training centres in Montrose and Aberdeen also worked with the Angus police, council and road authorities to ensure the race took place safely and efficiently.

Gordon Caird, regional manager Europe and The Americas for Petrofac Training commented: “It's been a wonderful day and it's fantastic that so many people took part - well done to all the runners! On behalf of Petrofac Training I would like to say a special thank you to everyone who supported the day. It was tremendous to see local residents and Petrofac employees come together for this community event.”
